PERSONNEL BOARD DECEMBER 21, 2006
CHILMARK TOWN HALL FINAL


Call to Order at 8 AM.

Members Present:  Richard Williams, Susan Heilbron, Max McCreery and Jennie Greene

Also Present:  Polly McDowell, Staff Liaison.

The minutes of the previous meeting were not prepared.

The motion to approve the budget for Fiscal Year 2008 as presented was moved, seconded and approved.

The question of meeting with the Selectmen about the proposed changes to the Administrative Policy were discussed.  It was decided that prior to meeting with the Selectmen that a draft introduction should be prepared.  Susan will draft something that will be circulated to the Board prior to sending it to the Selectmen.

The proposed change to the By-law addressing reappointments was sent to Jack Collins for legal review but he has not had a time to respond as yet.

Jennie reported that the Board of Selectmen approved the proposed change in the hours for the Library Assistant at their meeting the night before.

The Shellfish committee met with the Selectmen and the proposed new position to create a Shellfish Department was discussed.  The Committee had a draft job description that the Selectmen recommended that the P. B. review.

The draft job description was reviewed by the PB and changes were suggested as well as additional duties.  After the changes were completed the Board rated the position and it was scored as a grade 10 position.  Jennie and Susan will fine tune the job description and bring it to the next meeting.
